Thursday Night Dinner on the Patio with Chef Justin Pioche + special guests

Chef Justin Pioche Pioche Food Group

Chef Justin Pioche is a 2023 James Beard Award finalist for Best Chef for the Southwest. He founded the Pioche Food Group with his mother Janice and sister Tia. They partner with Navajo Ethno-Agriculture, a nonprofit group fostering agriculture. To Justin, Navajo food is more than survival food: it is the essence of beauty, humility, and the basis for healing. From their home in Upper Fruitland, NM, the group put on regular seven- to 9-course dinners called "LorAmy."

Chef Jaren Bates + Chef Brett Viber Guest chefs

Chefs Brett and Jaren (Diné) were nominated for a 2023 James Beard Award for best chef of the Southwest at their last post at the Table at the Junipine Resort in Sedona, Arizona. Avid foragers, this chef duo present the desert on a plate in the most fresh, creative and respectable ways. Who can make an unbelievable celery sorbet and steamed Navajo corn ice cream that’ll make you drop to your knees? These two. They’re opening a new restaurant and visiting Albuquerque for Taste of Decolonization, so catch them at the festival on Friday and Saturday, too.

Bow & Arrow Brewing Co. Featured Brew

Bow & Arrow Brewing Co. is a 2024 James Beard Award nominated for Outstanding Bar. This Native women-owned establishment has been serving grade A brews for eight years and pushing a fresh narrative of the Southwest with elegant and smart branding and storytelling. This meal comes with a couple brews by Bow & Arrow as they are a sponsor of Taste of Decolonization.

CW Ayon Duo Entertainment

From the City of Crosses by way of the Mississippi Delta, CW and his pal, Felipe on upright bass, give the blues their own particular boogie and beat that’s easy to dance and drink to. These two are long-time friends of Andi Murphy and the Toasted Sister Podcast and we love them.
